Erika Nastro – violin, string ensemble
Erika Nastro is an Italian violinist .
She graduated from Naples conservatoire in 1994 and moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music where she completed her postgraduate course in advance studies in 1998 under the guidance of Erich Gruenberg.
Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music, Erika has been studying with Lydia Mordkovitch, Hugh Maguire and David Jurits as well as freelancing with many major English orchestras and playing in chamber music concerts.
She has a duo with pianist Vadim Peaceman with whom she has been performing since 1995 in many tours in the Uk and overseas.
The duo was awarded the Barthel Prize by the Concordia foundation and recorded a world premiere of Pergolesi Sonatas in 2001.
Erika also was the cofounder of her own chamber orchestra , the London Pergolesi Sinfonietta , whom she led in many concerts at St James, Piccadilly.
Erika also enjoys her role of teacher and has been teaching for over 25 years in prestigious London schools.
